  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 head butter lettuce (or romaine), leaves separated

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Tempeh: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

  2. Add the Tempeh: Crumble the tempeh into the skillet. Stir and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.

  3. Season: Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce is absorbed.

  4. Assemble Wraps: Spoon the tempeh mixture into lettuce leaves. Top with shredded carrots, green onions, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts if desired.
