Ingredients:
For the Meatballs:

- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
For the Tomato Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz (340g) spaghetti
- Salt (for boiling water)

Make the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan (if using), garlic, egg, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Roll into 1-inch balls.

Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning to brown all sides. Remove and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, heat olive oil and sauté onions until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Pour in crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes.

Simmer Meatballs in Sauce: Add the browned meatballs to the sauce. Cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes until the meatballs are fully cooked and tender.
